A Full Page Ad in a New Zealand Newspaper…
I was shown this full page ad today that someone recently took out in a New Zealand newspaper:
Dear Christians: I am a Christian, and I am going to be real with you.
Brothers and sisters, “Christianity,” as our experience and history show, is a lie. [He simply means that what we commonly call "Christianity" today... isn't. Not that the Truth of Christianity itself is a lie, but simply how it's being expressed and represented as God's Heart and Mind... is a lie.] Jesus’ kingdom is not of this world, and He prayed that all His followers would be One. God answered Jesus’ prayer… but since Acts something’s gone seriously amiss. Jesus said a divided kingdom would fall. Christianity’s history proves its nature: competing for members, money, power and prestige using worldly methods and systems and measuring success against worldly standards. This is not Jesus’ Kingdom any more than its 10,000 schisms equal One Faith. This is not “one love, one mind, one heart, one accord.” This kingdom is Babylon and her daughters. King Jesus isn’t schizophrenic.
The Old Testament foreshadowed our times. God raised up many saviours to Israel: Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Solomon, Hezekiah, Josiah, and Zerubbabel; but upon each of their deaths the people fell away. The apostles of Jesus guided their generation, but upon their deaths the people fell away. For those with ears that hear, the last eighteen centuries correspond to Israel’s Babylonian captivity, at the end which God called His people back home to Jerusalem. He is calling His people home again today. That stirring energy deep inside — if you feel it — what is it?
Solomon built a magnificent temple. But all fell away, the temple was destroyed and the people were exiled to Babylon. Their children returned to Jerusalem finding a lot of work to do. Walls were built while enemies attacked. The temple’s ruins sat neglected while the people pampered themselves. But when God told them to restore the temple, they obeyed. Their temple didn’t compare to Solomon’s, but God said it would be greater than Solomon’s. Solomon’s temple is the Church of Acts. Zerubbabel’s temple, friends, is US, TODAY. We have the opportunity and privilege of restoring what has been stolen, rebuilding what has been destroyed. But it requires leaving Babylon. Building Jerusalem with a sword in one hand and a chisel in the other is much harder than wandering Babylon’s lush gardens. But whose Kingdom are you in, what are you made of, and for? Are we builders and warriors, or slaves?I am begging you to listen to Him, if you can actually hear Him. Have you not sensed something is wrong? Babylon’s destruction is assured, and near. God’s kingdom is unity, family, and true love. Love doesn’t take: it gives everything all the time including life itself. A smile and a handshake once a week is not love any more than two teens on a weekly date. I would not pay someone to love my wife and children for me, nor should I pay someone to love His Family. Is your family limited to genetics, or like Jesus, those who do the will of our Father? Jesus’ disciples will be known by their love for one another. Love takes time, effort, patience, pain, toil… it takes two or more. We can only love if we know Him. Do we know Him? If we know Him, we’ll be like Him! Love hurt Him, and it will hurt us. We’ll be mocked, slandered, and attacked, just like the exiles were. False brothers will make things difficult but our discernment will grow and the walls will rise. Are people — [who call themselves] Christians — attacking you? If not, you aren’t in the fight, and you are not following Him. It is enough to be like Him, and He was abused and hated. It will cost our lives.
You who have come out: the Kingdom is gained by effort, persistence, commitment…with others. You will perish alone. Get Babylon out of you. Find others and put your own shoulders to the burden. Where are the rest of Jesus’ gifts to His body? Hiding? Nursing wounds? All are not false brothers, and the true ones are worth it. Are we still slaves, or kings and priests? Jerusalem’s walls and temple must be rebuilt: you must grab your tools and build too.
When all Hell was tempting Jesus… what dream drove Him to submit to His Father? When He was being flogged, what was He expecting to gain? When He was hanging naked, mocked, despised, forsaken, what did He see? I tell you, what He saw was not eighteen centuries of falling away now accepted as normal, but the Church restored in Life and Power and Love, supernaturally conquering sin and death. Next time you are in your religious exercise, alone or together, ask yourself: is this it? Babylon, or the New Jerusalem? Think about it… then make your choice.
Regardless, know this: Jerusalem is rising, and Babylon is falling. You can stay enslaved to the past, or you can become freemen. Times are changing fast, and time is short. There is work to do, and a shortage of workers. Don’t be found lazy, asleep, or hiding at Jesus’ return. Buy your oil now while you can. Start digging for the treasure. Night is coming when no man can work… you can rest then. Right now, strengthen your weak arms, firm your shaking knees. Lay aside fears and sin that holds you back, and let us run together the race, sprinting to the finish. He who endures will be saved…let us help each other endure. Seek His Kingdom first. This isn’t about you!
Do you hear? Do you understand? Where are you, Christians? In Jesus Name, stand up and be counted!
Wow.
